Yasmeen Yanez is a summer intern at Kivu Immigration Law PLLC. She is from Cypress Park in Los Angeles, California. She recently graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Ethics, Politics, and Economics and an Advanced Certificate in Spanish. At Yale, she worked with Connecticut Legal Service (CLS), a law firm that helps clients with a range of civil legal issues. Yasmeen specifically focused on immigration cases where she translated birth certificates, court orders, and immigration forms. Her work at CLS propelled her to gain more hands-on experience in immigration, especially in places like Worthington where people from surrounding states come to receive support. Yasmeen is fluent in both English and Spanish. During her free time, she loves to play the violin and sing with her Mariachi group back home.
