Celeste Álvarez is a legal assistant at Kivu Immigration Law PLLC. Prior to her current role, Celeste joined the Kivu Law team as a Kivu Summer Intern in 2024 and continued her internship remotely during her university studies. Celeste was born in Chino, California, and raised in Hereford, Texas. She recently graduated from Washington and Lee University (W&L) in Lexington, Virginia as a Questbridge Match Scholar, where she majored in Sociology and Anthropology with a minor in Latin American & Caribbean Studies. Celeste was awarded a 2026-2027 Fulbright Grant to Guatemala where she will teach English in Quetzaltenango and work on learning K’iche’ before attending W&L Law to pursue a career in immigration law. Celeste is fluent in English and Spanish. Outside of work and school, she enjoys reading, meeting new people, and spending time with her cats, family, and friends.
